God always acts upon his creatures according to his immutable, holy and just nature. Hence the innocent are the objects of his kindness and the wicked the objects of his wrath. The incarnation, when the eternal, pre-existent Son of God assumed a distinct and created human nature into personal union with himself, caused no change in God’s being or perfections. There was a union
